Love Your Job?!

Hello Everyone, I hope your Sunday has been well.

I’ve been writing a lot recently about changing to a new job and it just dawned on me how important it is that you actually enjoy what you do for your a living because the average British employee will spend 84,365 hours in our lifetime working in a job for someone else and at the end of the day if you are not happy there, enjoying what you do or passionate about it, what’s the point?

Of course we all work to earn money because we need enough money to live comfortably and do the things we enjoy in our own time, but when we’re spending 37+ hours in an environment, with other people doing specific duties it’s actually a blessing if you like all 3. And let’s not forget the location as well, travelling long distances before and after work all takes up time.

If you are sitting in traffic in the car or on public transport, make the most of that time (safely) rather than stressing, you can:

1. Listen to music
2. Phone a friend or family member
3. Read a book
4. Say affirmations
5. Plan your food shop

I don’t believe you should stay somewhere just because it is easy for you. Especially if you don’t really like your job or you have another goal or passion you would like to pursue, go for it because you’ll never know if you don’t try. No matter what age you are or how much experience you have, anything is possible and if you put in the effort to find a way to your true “passion”, chances are you’ll find what your looking for.

It’s also important to accept where you are in life and not to wait for that special job in order to like what you do, put in your best efforts and act as though you are working your dream job so that when the time comes, you will be ready.

I honestly think it takes time to figure out what you want to do and be in life and there’s so much pressure from a young age to know what you want to be when you grow up and become an adult. I also don’t believe you’ll find your dream job straight away (but you are lucky if you do!), I think we’ll all have a few interesting work experiences that we’ll look back on and appreciate when we’ve found that dream job whatever that means for you.

Almost half way through the year.

Hello Everyone, I hope your day has been well.

It’s crazy to think that we are almost half way through the year. It seems like it has gone quick but at the same time a lot has happened and we have all been through so much especially with the virus and lockdown restrictions. It seems so normal talking about it now, but this time last year everything was so uncertain and there was a lot of anxiety about the situation. Hopefully we can look forward to a positive new normal.

The virus has been quite a big distraction this year. There is always a news story on the TV and of recent, the new strain. I feel like there is still a lot of things that I would like to achieve this year so I’ve definitely got to stay focused on my goals. It sometimes seems difficult to achieve them but no matter what as long as I keep trying on what I want, it should work out. Setting goals is always fun and easy but ticking them off is the harder part.

We are finally in the Spring season which is so beautiful, waking up early, hearing the birds chirp in the morning, the bright skies and longer days are so appreciated I feel like it goes so well with my mood and I’ve got to make the most of it. However, this week has been so so rainy, literally everyday I’ve needed my rain coat and umbrella because rain has been forecast and its rained every day without fail.

Last week, I had my first meal out since October, can you imagine? Over 6 months since I was at a restaurant. It was only outside dining at the time and although it was a little rainy, we were under shelter and it wasn’t too cold. I had the Naked Katsu, which was brown rice, grated carrot, pickled raddish, lettuce and edamame beans, all very tasty. Along with a cloudy lemonade.

It’s actually been a little while since I have baked/cooked something as I’ve been occupied with other things but I can’t wait to start planning new recipes and creating new things in the kitchen.

Hope you all have a great week!

Confidence for 2017

Hi ✋ so this year is almost over and can you believe how quickly 2016 has gone by? A lot has happened this year and I am so excited for 2017 because I know it will be a great year for me to succeed and achieve many things.

The main thing to remember is to be grateful for everything that you’ve been blessed with and look forward to what the future holds.

Here are some tips to take into the new year:

  • Never give up on your hopes and dreams, even if you are not where you wish to be in your spare time do creative activities that will nourish your soul.
  • Keep the focus away from yourself, focus on other people more and actually make eye contact when listening to someone is talking soon your fears of communication will disappear.
  • Be reliant on yourself, have some time alone and get to know your true self by letting go of who you think you should be.
  • Don’t be afraid, just remember that you can achieve anything you put your mind too. Failure and embarrassment always mean you are making progress and overcoming fears therefore one step closer to your goals.
  • Step out of your comfort zone, try new activities and speak to different people.
  • Always forgive yourself, don’t let things if the past get you down because no one is perfect and you can learn from your mistakes.
  • Lastly believe in yourself and be original.

Happy New Year Everyone and thank you for reading my blog posts.

6 Free Things to do this Summer

Now that the summer holidays are finally here (for most of us) here are a few activities to enjoy. Even though any people will be off on their holidays, working hard or visiting family don’t forget;

1. Have a clear out: you have probably accumulated so much rubbish the past months that a clear out is in order, throw away those old papers, magazines, make up and clothes that you are no longer using.

2. Read a book: literally any book that will make you smile, laugh or cry. Relax whilst you do and enjoy the time.

3. Meditate: even when you’ve got a lot going on just set aside at least 5 minutes every day to do some meditation and connect with the inner you.

4. Talk to people: conversing online doesn’t count 😛 make the effort to meet up with your siblings or old/new friends and have real good meaningful conversation.

5. Set some goals: they can literally be anything even if you don’t achieve them all just complete that one goal to improve your life or help you grow.

6. Watch interesting documentaries: it’s so easy to get caught up in all the random videos on YouTube but take a step back and try to watch something that can inspire or educate you.

Don’t let yourself be bored this summer make the most of it, there are so many more things to include, if you’ve got anymore ideas….comment below
