Soothing Anxious Thoughts

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by my blog today.

In these uncertain times, it is likely that everyone has felt a sense of anxiousness throughout the recent weeks. Whether you are working from home, social distancing or a key worker, it’s a good idea to just let yourself feel and be in the moment (but try not to stay down for too long). Even if you have always been an anxious person remember, every day is different and it’s always useful to try new things. I think anxiety is something that will pop up at different stages of our lives however, learning different coping mechanisms may help you to keep it under control and ignore the negative voice in our head. Also, when we wake up each morning, we have the chance to start again and live a new day.

Try my simple tips below to hopefully ease your anxious thoughts:

  • Read a book: fiction or non fiction, just read something and get captivated by each page.
  • Go for a walk: it can be down the road or to the park and spend a little time in nature.
  • Journal your thoughts: all you need is a pen and paper to write down how you are feeling, you might even look back on it and be surprised with how you were feeling. Its also a great tool for reflecting and seeing how far you have come.
  • Listen to music: sing the lyrics out loud to your favourite artist or turn up the volume to a relaxing genre.
  • Have a little cry: sometimes we just need to let all of the emotions out.

Wake up feeling good! 

Sometimes getting up early in the morning can be so difficult and even just mornings in general, I’ve come up with a few ideas to get you all feeling positive and great about starting your day 🙌 

– Relax your body 

– Focus on 10 deep breaths 

– Listen to ‘happy’ music

– Do some stretches 

– Don’t check your phone too early 

– Make something delicious for your breakfast 

Mantras to help feel confident

Confidence is shown through your actions therefore whatever you do, do it confidently like no one is watching!

– I am more than just a physical body.

– I am entitled to experience miracles.

– I am good enough for anything and everything.

– I have a purpose in this world.

– I am responsible for the way that I see things.

Pick your favourite and repeat 10x in the morning into a mirror, looking at yourself with belief. Say it like you mean it and notice the changes in your day xx

Throughout all your struggles in life you must always remember to enjoy yourself and SMILE!!! Whenever you feel like things are ‘getting too much’ just take some time out to do something for yourself.

5 tips for when your feeling overwhelmed with life.

1. Write down your thoughts and feelings into a journal.

2. Do something you used to love doing as a kid.

3. Listen to your favourite songs and have a dance around the house.

4. Treat yourself to a pamper e.g homemade facial, foot spa or a manicure.

5. Spend quality time with a good friend.

Healthy Lifestyle Tips to do Everyday!

1. Morning workout routine

2. Meditate for 5mins and gradually increase time

3. Drink mostly water and the occasional glass of fizzy pop or wine depending on your preferences

4. Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables

5. Only have 1tsp or less of sugar in your hot drinks

6. Make healthy smoothies and juices (it’s so much fun)
